Greetings fellow geeks.

I hope this is not the wrong arena, but I have seen job offerings on the
list.

I created a basic HTML site for my wife's product (from a free
template). The site is lackluster and has a very poor conversion rate.

As a laid-off Electrician, I currently have more time than money. If
anyone on the list has the inclination to barter, it would be greatly
appreciated. I am also open to any and all other proposal$ for help. I
do have a collection of various hardware which may appeal to some, but
most likely perils in comparison to other collections on the list...LOL

About the Site : http://www.carry-her.com
My wife has created a doll carrier backpack for 18" dolls ( a huge
market, speculated to replace the Barbi) such as The American Girl Doll.
We do have decent SEO (key words: doll carrier, American girl doll
carrier, 18" doll carrier) yet we are self competing with our Amazon
page. It hurts to pay the 15% to Amazon. We feel there is something
greatly wrong with our site preventing sales conversions, therefore we
can't dump the Amazon market. I am not a marketing professional, so I'm
not nearly competent to judge the reasons for lack of sales on our site.
I'm only speculating three main reasons.

        1. Customers don't trust our site for a number of reasons, such
as they prefer large names like Amazon.

2.The site is a single product site making us small potatoes.

3.The site is not professional looking.

The only thing on the above list I have much control over is changing
the look of the site.

We have some big things which MAY happen in the future, so I would like
to have a welcoming site for all the new potential hits.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear
input, like should I have an OScommerce instance even though we have
just one product?

Feel free to email directly.

Eric
