It's hard to definite what makes a distro stand apart from all of the others, especially when there are hundreds of them. To do so requires knowledge of the other distros being compared, and few of us has intimate knowledge of several distros simultaneously. Perhaps Joe is occasionally overenthusiastic, but that doesn't actually mean he doesn't know what he's talking about. ;-) Now, in terms of LibreOffice, being able to run it off a thumb drive is a big deal, as it means it never has to be installed on the machine its running on. This gives you the freedom to make LibreOffice documents with all of the unique features it has, without having to fear whether a Windows machine you end up having to show your Impress presentation on has it installed -- or whether it has the same version as you used to make the presentation -- or whether the Writer document you made will print correctly from your computer at work. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) MHVLS Auditorium Feb 2 - Zimbra Mar 2 - MHVLUG 8th Anniversary - Show and Tell Apr 6 - Introduction to IPv6
