GRUB2's a better bootloader than NTLDR anyway.  James, why are you
chainloading from NT and not GRUB?

This is true, but there is at least one case in which chainloading from NTLDR is necessary that Dragorn mentioned at one of the meetings. IIRC that case had to do with Windows setting up a videocard at boot time, which wouldn't happen and result in a black screen if he tried to use GRUB or LILO as the boot loader directly.

I've chainloaded Grub Legacy from NTLDR once, so it should be possible to do it from Grub2 if necessary. As I remember doing this requires unhiding the boot.ini file, modifying it to add the entry to chainload to, and then setting it as hidden again. However, ever since Windows Vista, there is no boot.ini file anymore, and instead this needs to be configured using 'bcdedit' apparently, which modifies a file on the drive Windows is installed on -- usually C:\boot\bcd
