There will also be books to give away. I did a cleaning of books recently, and there are some reasonably recent books that may be of interest, include 2 on Linux Device Drivers. They will be available first come first served at the meeting tonight.

MHVLUG is proud to announce our March 2011 meeting:

MHVLUG 8th Anniversary - Show and Tell

To celebrate MHVLUG's 8th Anniversary we're going to do an MHVLUG show
and tell. A number of people will bring recent projects they've been
working on, or cool things they've figured out in the open source arena
and share those with the group. Please sign up for a 10 - 15 minute talk
on a topic you are interested in.

      Show and Tell Talks

    * Making the web your humble servant - using ruby mechanize
<http://mechanize.rubyforge.org/mechanize/> to automate the web -
      Sean Dague
    * Making a bed bug cooker
      <http://softsolder.com/2010/11/08/bed-bugs-overview/> - Ed Nisley
    * Testing websites with Selenium <http://seleniumhq.org/> - Kris Walker
    * Quadricopter - Mike Kershaw
    * CR-48 Chrome OS Laptop - Ben or Bruce, whoever still has it at the
      time

And there will be cake and coffee! A tradition for our anniversary
meeting is Linux themed cake provided by Pat and Laura Ladd. Come out
and join us to ring in year 9 for the LUG.

Before the main talk we will do a series of lightning talks (up to 3),
each 10 minutes or less, on something Open Source related. It could be a
fun new program, a book, a blog post, or really anything you think the
wider MHVLUG community would find some interest in. People that have
posted their talk subject to the website in advance have priority. Time
permitting, we'll also take impromptu lightning talks from the floor.

If you are planning on using the projector for your lightning talk,
please arrive at 5:30 to ensure we can work out any kinks with the
projector prior to the meeting.

The meeting will take place at Mid Hudson Library System Auditorium on
Wednesday, March 2nd at 6 pm.

All meetings are *free* and open to the public, and everyone from all
levels of expertise and interest in Linux and Open Source Software are
encouraged to attend (and bring a friend or two)! After each meeting
ends everyone is welcome to join in on an informal dinner gathering at
the Palace Diner <http://mhvlug.org/content/palace-diner> on Washington
St. This is a great opportunity to interact with members of the local
Linux community, and a forum where questions and comments are strongly
welcomed.
