I'm very happy with my Ooma service. I purchased the legacy hardware
which has rumors of free service. Otherwise for basic service you just
pay the taxes, which should be approx $12/yr.

The hardware buy in is more $200-$250. Amazon or buy.com often have
refurb units for $150.

When I say legacy, I mean the Ooma vs. Ooma Telo.

There is a $40 one time fee to port you existing number over. They will
give you a temporary number to start off.

I have not had time to diagnose, but faxing for me seems to have spotty
quality.
