Take the exam: Saturday, February 4 from 10 AM to noon

If you’ve ever wanted to learn about amateur (“ham”) radio, it’s time to do
something about it!
This class gives you everything you need to pass the written examination
for a Technician class
amateur radio license. On the last day, you’ll take the exam – if you pass,
you’ll leave as a
licensed ham radio operator!
Technician class is the entry-level amateur operator/primary station
license issued by the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC). No prior experience is needed, and there
is no minimum
(or maximum) age limit.
Here are just a few of the things you can do with a Technician class
license:
* Talk with other hams all over the world
* Operate your own ham radio position-reporting system (APRS)
* Communicate with satellites and the International Space Station (ISS)
* Send and receive digital communications through your computer
* Operate through local repeater systems
* Operate ham radio television and computer radio photos (ATV and SSTV)
* Perform community service as a ham radio responder
Absolutely no Morse code test is required for the Technician class license.
There is no charge for this course – just pay $20 for the study book and
class materials, and the
$15 examination fee.

Pre-registration is required. The registration deadline is January 6. To
register, or to get
more information, contact Keith Tilley, (845) 687-9951, [email protected].
There is a pre-class study assignment - register early so you have plenty
of time to prepare!
