Have you tried Mysql Workbench?

http://www.mysql.com/products/workbench/

I have used the interface on Mac OS X and Ubuntu, but not for modeling (I'm 
still fairly green on DB's).  

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but it is pretty cool.
