I might know someone who could put it to good use.

I've been talking to the guy who runs the Math & Physics Exploration
"house" in Freedom Plains (across from the Mobile station).
He's a retired physicist who gives free tutoring.
He's also been teaching math in elementary classes for kids who need extra help. I'm going to set up an old machine he has with Ubuntu
so he can try out Linux and gcc.

He has some computers and monitors there, but might be able to use
another. I can ask. Is this the kind of thing you are looking for?

Do any of you know anybody who'd have a use for an NEC XV17+ Multisync 17" CRT monitor (VGA connector)? It worked perfectly the last time I used it, and I'd rather see it get used than discarded. Otherwise Saturday it goes to Best Buy, who takes care of recycling electronics for free (at least in NYS). Email me if you want it.
