A+?  Yup!

Will I need it?  Who knows...  But if (when?) I move into IT, it will be a 
second career and I'll need some way of demonstrating my skill set. Looks like 
the best place to start. 

As far as what certifications to get though?  I really think it depends on the 
situation. I've come across a fella who lost his tier three support job and is 
now  actively pursuing his Cisco certification. But that's because he knows 
what's jobs are available near him and what matches his personal experience.
