I only managed figuring it out this morning, but I've now got a custom
lens for Unity 5 (Ubuntu 12.04) which lets you search and launch your NX
client configurations - https://github.com/sdague/unity-lens-nx it
should be reasonably instructive starting point for getting
infrastructure up to make Unity do custom searches for you.
