While I've been very supportive of people posting job opportunities on
this list, I've tried to keep it very narrow so that it doesn't become a
flood. This has included scaring people off that were posting NYC jobs,
because that becomes a flood real quick.
One of the leadership topics back in the spring was about other ways to
approach this. Procrastination set in until tonight. :)
I've created a new mhvlug-jobs mailing list -
http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug-jobs and we're going
to open this up more.
That means *NO* more jobs postings on the main list, instead please
subscribe to the mhvlug-jobs list and post over there.
The new rules:
1) it has to be commutable from the Mid-Hudson Valley. NYC is deemed
commutable by many of our members.
2) it must include some Linux or Open Source skills
2a) an exception to 2 is if it's actually a tech job located in the
Mid-Hudson Valley
Examples of what's cool:
* network admin in Red Hook - yes
* linux engineer in NYC - yes
* django developer in NYC - yes
* drupal developer in Kingston - yes
* windows admin in Highland - yes
Examples of what's *not* cool:
* windows server admin in NYC or Whiteplains - no
If you are a job seeker, or a job poster, please subscribe to
http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug-jobs
This is provided as a service to our community, no guarantees or
promises about any of the content that flows here, but I'd personally
just like to make it easier to keep and grow the technical talent in our
area.
