As some of you are aware, I have temporarily put my Android learning/projects on hold. I have a current need to master Python in under 6 months do to work related needs. I like most invested in "Learning Python" ( with 2nd ed. one of my fav. programming books ) But the 4th ed. is almost 400 pages and a monster of a tome, still a very good read.
What I came across is "Thinking Python" http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920025696.do It's shorter, more focused and about learning to program as much as it's about Python. But what I wanted to point out is what Allen Downey does is VERY FOSS/Linux-ey He published the book on the internet and you can download it, in PDF, LaTeX source code or even HTML. http://www.greenteapress.com/thinkpython/ You can check out his other "Creative Commons" books at http://greenteapress.com/ This is a great resource for Computer teachers! both High School and Collage level. -- /** Joe Apuzzo ** Call: KD2AKU ** PGP/GPG: key ID BB5C7 **/
