What board did you decide on? An option I'm considering now is return motherboard for refund or replacement. I thought the most likely problem was that I damaged the CPU in the process of transferring it between motherboards. I've since read an article from PCSTATS.com "Beginners Guide: How to Install/Remove AMD Socket AM3 CPU and Heatsink". That article points out several errors I made. I then removed the CPU and checked for bent pins. I see no signs of damage. After reinstalling the CPU I reran the boot with one memory stick at a time test. (The previous test was done while the extra brass standoff was in place). _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org http://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College Nov 6 - Security: Locking Your Doors Dec 4 - OpenFlow: Open Standard for Networking Hardware Jan 8 - January Meeting
