Does anyone use Unity? How long did it take you to get used to it? I remember when Ubuntu moved the minimize/maximize/close buttons on windows from the right to the left. I resisted at first and changed the UI to put it back on the right, but eventually I bit the bullet and accepted change and got used to it over the course of a week or so.
Unity has been more difficult. My memory sucks, so it's nice having a menu I can scan down and look at all the options of software that's installed and tools for editing system configuration, etc. In Unity, I need to know the name of what I'm looking for. The menu when you hit the Ubuntu button in the upper left corner doesn't always overlay the program I'm in, and a myriad of other stupid little things like this bother me and have me going back to gnome. But I feel like I'm just resisting change when there could be some real advantages to using Unity that I'm missing out on since I'm not giving it a real shot. Just looking for other's experiences.
