Sure July 2 sounds like a long way off but your project needs to be done and working! https://mhvlug.org/meetings/2014/mad-science-fair-iv
So I started doing some research, and finally found some hardware for about $7 a pop for what I will build. But before finding that I was looking at what's out there that would out-preform the Raspberry Pi and found this hardware project: http://radxa.com/ RockChip RK3188 Quad Core 1.6GHz CPU 2GB DDR3 RAM / 8GB Nand Flash GPU: Mali 400M Quad-Core GPU Along with real Ethernet, wifi, and blue-tooth 4.0, GPIO and other expansions! With case and cables included will run you only $100 Recently they delivered a working driver for the Mali 400M Quad-Core GPU: http://youtu.be/M5citlPROTo Now you can get Android sticks off of ebay that use the RockChip RK3188 for around $60-70 but why cheap out, these guys have exposed everything on this chip and you can probably make some KILLER projects or even use it as a PC in a pinch 8-) So sharing my findings with the greater group. If your working on something, let us know, it may inspire others and make this our biggest baddest fair yet! -- Joe /** ** Joseph T Apuzzo ** High-Performance Computing ** GPFS Expert (Linux, Windows, AIX), Linux LPIC-1 ** ** http://www.linkedin.com/in/japuzzo/ ** http://plus.google.com/+JosephApuzzo ** ** PGP / GPG Key # 0xA16E26CF ** FingerPrint: 19A8 44EC F650 782B 6770 BF0E 2DAA 3D75 A16E 26CF **/
