Hi dragorn,

Thanks for your detailed realistic comments.

Our first "Older Android Hardware" is a Boost Mobile Kyocera Hydro that
has never been activated. Did a quick check and Boost Mobile buyback
https://buyback.boostmobile.com/bst/select
and found "This device does not have any credit value. Please recycle it
through Project Connect." Guess it only has value for parts.

It still has educational value so have no interest in trying to unlock
it. Did some searching and found " How to Root the Kyocera Hydro"
http://theunlockr.com/2013/04/07/how-to-root-the-kyocera-hydro/
but noticed a few had problems. To date I have not found a working
recovery if there is a problem.

Seems that it is best to do your homework 1st.

Thanks for the CyanogenMod tip! Checked the forum
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/ and was surprised that there is no
support for any Kyocera phone? Especially since they use QUALCOMM
Snapdragon processors.

Did some searches using old android hardware forums and found

http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php/643-Android-Hardware
http://forums.androidcentral.com/

Any preferences?

Thanks again for your help!
