I also just noticed that there are a few "livestream" related packages, one of
which might do livestream recording:
$ apt-cache search livestream
fadecut - toolset to rip audiostreams, cut, fade in/out and
tag the resulting audiofiles
livestreamer - CLI that pipes video streams to video players
python-livestreamer - library to extract video streams from
various services - Python 2
python3-livestreamer - library to extract video streams from
various services - Python 3
youtube-dl - downloader of videos from YouTube and other sites
