Greetings. Debian is currently holding it's annual DebConf conference right now, which is being held in Portland, Oregon at Portland State University. The video team is live streaming the talks online as well as recording them for playback later, and it's possible to participate with the conference remotely which is why I'm mentioning the conference now.
- DebConf14 main web page: http://debconf14.debconf.org/ - DebConf14 live video streams (when active): http://timvideos.us/ - There's are IRC discussion channels for DebConf in general and channels for each of the talk rooms; for that connect to irc.debian.org and the channels available for DebConf are #debconf, #debconf-planary, #debconf-room327, #debconf-room329, #debconf-room338. - There is sometimes a document that is put up and collaboratively edited via Gobby 0.5 "live" during the talks; inside the Gobby 0.5 client connect to gobby.debian.org and open the 'debconf14' folder to see and/or edit those. Gobby 0.5 is cross-platform and relatively easy to install on most platforms except for OSX which requires compiling via MacPorts. The download page has links to the installation guide for various platforms. http://gobby.0x539.de/trac/wiki/Download As this list is mainly for New York, I'll just mention that Portland time is three hours earlier compared to NY. Enjoy. -- Chris -- Chris Knadle [email protected] _______________________________________________ Mid-Hudson Valley Linux Users Group http://mhvlug.org https://mhvlug.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/mhvlug Upcoming Meetings (6pm - 8pm) Vassar College * Sep 3 - Google App Engine Oct 1 - Ansible Nov 5 - Modern Dns Is Cooler Than You Thought!
