It's that time of year again where we look for a few good folks to do
all the background work that makes MHVLUG meetings the relatively
seamless experience that you get today.

We have 4 officer roles:

* President - the buck stops here, your job is to make sure everything
pulls together at the end of the day.
* Program Director - responsible for managing the main lecture content,
finding and coordinating with speakers for our monthly meeting.
* Publicity Director - getting the word out about what we do via as many
channels as possible. People need to know we exist before they can
choose to be part of our community.
* Historian - recording what's gone on, through pictures and words, to
provide us with our story as a group. Very helpful in giving new first
time visitors an idea of what they are stepping into before they get there.

The way this works, from now until the Dec MHVLUG meeting you can
nominate yourself for any role in question. To do so just send an email
to the list. Any role that has more than one candidate in Dec will be
decided by a hand vote by the attendees in the room at the end of the
meeting (during normal election time).

Our current class of officers have all said that if no one else
nominates for the particular role, they'll be happy nominating
themselves. However, we also love new blood. So if you want to step up
and take on any of these roles, please speak up.

Our primary officer planning mechanism is our quarterly leadership
meetings, which are completely open. Typically it ends up being the
current officers plus 1 - 4 additional MHVLUG members who are interested
in helping with things. So even if you may not feel ready to take on an
officer role, if you are interested in helping out, please consider
attending the leadership meetings.

Thanks all. I won't be there at the Nov meeting (OpenStack Summit), but
will be back in Dec.

P.S. also, been a little quiet of late (and absent on IRC) due the
arrival of our daughter - https://dague.net/2014/10/19/our-daughter-arwen/
