So, I hung onto NX 3.5 for as long as I could, but not understanding the
security implications of using unsupported software, I'm looking for
alternatives. NX 4 put the virtual desktops behind a paywall, which means
that using NX to connect to another machine now limits you to the screen
resolution the machine you're connecting to can physically support.

Are there any other programs out there that do remote desktop connections
and let you set the screen resolution to higher levels that are supported
on the client side that might not necessarily work on the physical server
you're connecting to?
