I took a class a few years ago that used Fedora and it still needed some
ability to configure using command line. What made is hard for all of
the distros is when Ubuntu came out with only a free edition and
requires no knowledge of command line. If your business model involves
people paying for support or being enough of a geek to be able to
configure it yourself that spells doom. Mandriva, SUSE, and a lot of
other distros are gone because that marketing approach didn't work.
I read somewhere that Ubuntu's flavors all together now have something
like 75% of the desktop market in Linux. Being able to put a DVD into a
lap top, choose a user name and password, and then taking a shower or
eating dinner while it fully installs and configures is tough competition.
It is easier to put Ubuntu Mate into a virgin system than it is two
install Windows from the recovery media. It also takes about 1/5 of the
time.
If Fedora makes a comeback it might bring back Install Fests with it.
They were great bonding experiences.

Hey guys,
I was seeing if there are any fedora users here in the group as there
seems to a lot more of ubuntu and the alike as well as a few arch users.
I have been an off and on users of fedora since fedora 5 and I am
liking fedora 21 thus far. Was seeking opinions on the distro and
reasons why others use in the group use fedora.
Thanks
