I have an audio question for those that may be knowlegeable, or may have
experience with the particular product.

I have a Blaupunkt Casablanca CD51 car stereo for which I need a new
faceplate. The rotary volume control is shot (not that it ever worked very
well,
but it is useless now.)

I found the CD51 in the archives at _www.midwestelectronics.com_
(http://www.midwestelectronics.com/) , a parts house, but I don't see an exact
matching
faceplate available.

HOWEVER, the following available faceplates LOOK to be identical with the
exception of one button:
Where my Casablanca CD51 has a DEQ (Digital Equalizer) button, the Daytona
Beach C51, Tampa Bay CD51, and Miami Beach CD51 each have an X-Bass button.

Assuming this button simply presses ON like the button on the Casablanca
CD51, I think that any of these faceplates will work. I am assuming that the
DEQ
and X-Bass circuitry are housed in the BODY of the stereo, and not in the
faceplate.

Do you see any reason why one of the available faceplates would not work on
my Casablanca CD51?

The REMAINDER of the stereo/CD player works very well, so I'd rather just
replace the faceplate if that is an option.

The Casablanca CD51 has a color display, although I can live without that if
necessary (I suspect that the least expensive faceplate has a non-color
display, while the most expensive has color.)

Thanks,

Jerry aka LGO
