Sounds to me like you need better info on the state of your engine.

 

Maybe you should do the leak down yourself.  Tools don't have to be
expensive if you buy amateur quality since you only use them occasionally

the leak down but was told the oil pan/block are being pressureied and

point being, the valves and head gasket are good.  which leaves pistons/cyl
walls or cracked block, right?

i have to buy a nother car as my scion was totlalled last week by a hit/run
on I-91s in meriden,ct last week, before i start pulling the miata apart....
