The stock Miata PCV valve allows full boost pressure to flow into the
crankcase. The correct valve comes from a turbo 323 GTX and is not available
at most FLAPS (their cross-reference charts show the wrong one) so just get
the right one from FM. To test one just blow through it in the direction
toward the valve cover. It should completely block air flow in that direction.
