I'm not an expert here but if the air is coming out of the cam cover I would
think the problem could be valve guides too.

 

All I'm saying is before I started taking an engine apart or out I would
want to know for sure what I going to try to fix is really the problem.

from a previous msg

...but was told the oil pan/block are being pressureied and leaking out from
the valve cover area (writing that, it doesnt sound right but i believe that
is correct).

point being, the valves and head gasket are good.  which leaves pistons/cyl
walls or cracked block, right? 

doesnt this  answered the "where is the air leaking to" question.  i trust
the shop and i dont understand what additional info my doing another leak
down would show .  what am i missing here?
