As a LINK owner, I've experienced the reset and loss of tuning that occurs
when battery power is cut to the the ECU, as when replacing the car's battery.
I'm wondering if the 9 volt battery device below is sufficient to retain the
tuning info, so one doesn't have to retune after battery disconnect.

Also, it seems that it requires a "complete" disconnect to affect the ECU
(battery replacement - no cables atttached to the battery), as when I've only
disconnected the negative cable from the battery, the tuning has not been lost.
Additionally, when the battery had drained to almost dead, the ECU settings
have been retained.
How does this work, exactly? How little battery power is required to avoid
loss of LINK ECU tuning?
