14mm x 1.5 pitch You have to be careful, the stock drain plug has quite a long shoulder between the hex head and where the treaded portion starts. The VDO senders do not have this, so you will find that you only get one turn or so of thread engagement before the the plug is snug in the oilpan. i didn't fell comfortable with the drain plug only just hanging in there, so I had a friend turn mine in a lathe so the hex head is much thinner and I get more turns (threads) into the oilpan before it is tight.
