There must be a spring in there, perhaps it snapped? My junker white 92 has a sticky handle, same problem (sticks) but it wasn't a sudden issue, it wasn't maintained for years.

I am in need of a soft top, and a new drivers side door handle for a 94
miata. Is there a way to fix the door handle? Someone pulled on mine
and it won't return without me pushing it in. Thanks
