Looks like there are <2 in the system there now with no ETA.. but I like
your 225/45 option, puts quite a bit more tread to the road. 225/45 is
8.0" tread, vs. 7.2" wide for a 205/50 in the same tire.

As I recall it, my 97 had 225/50/15's on the rear, which would be ~9" wide
for the T1-S at the time (9.2" wide in the RS-2)... I think it may have
rubbed when getting crazy, but not significantly. Anyone have rubbing
issues on the 225/45/15? It's shows as 0.5" wider section width
(http://www.hankooktireusa.com/product/Z212.pdf) over the 205/50.

p.s. since when do we need "aroma tires"????

That's great news! You're right, it's the first time there's been an ETA on
the website in a year. So maybe the 205/50-15 MX will rise from the ashes
and become a valid option again.

Although I'd probably still go with a 225/45-15 Hankook :)

Tire Rack says it will be available in 8 days. Then again the checks in
 the mail.

While the 205/50-15 MX has existed in the past, it's become a thing of
fiction. It's been on backorder in the US for approximately a year now. I
 consider that to be unobtainable.

I suppose Keith referenced the width... I have 205/50 x 15 MX on my car
 now.
