Consider this "practical" application:  If we can generate power from  radio 
waves, even just a little, we could use it to power light.
Light would then power photovoltaic cells to provide electricity.
This would require a very specific wave length of light, perhaps amplified  
or changed in some way, but it could work, and it would work at night.
