All of the "premium" are about the same price from 91 to 94 octane around
here, typically 9c above 89 midgrade and 18c above 87 regular... There is
one station near me that defies that logic, and it's 12c over 87 octane
almost consistently. Only one I have seen that way. Mobil station.. and I
think they have 92 or 93.. Been that way for years. Even stranger, they
are right off the highway, which usually means higher prices.

I found this cool map, US Gasoline Requirement, via the Mobil website.:
http://www.mobil.com/USA-English/GFM/Files/US_Gasoline_Map.pdf Pretty
interesting to see what states or areas require what stuff.. I love living
in a white area. ;) It came from this page which talks about some of the
different type of gas:

Still very much on the east coast...refinery/storage here in south NJ
outside PHL.

Over a year ago they got rid of ultra 94.

Now ultra is 93, and they slid in 91 for a super, which traditionally is
not
an east coast octane rating.

What is super sneaky, is how the Wawas, which typically have decent gas
prices, have reduced
their super from 93 down to 92 for about same price other stations
charge 93 in
their competitive area.

With our cars, 1 octane point can certainly make a difference. I also
run a 93 octane AccessPort map on my WRX, so I tend to seek out
Sunoco 93 or BP 93 around here. Citgo tends to be 10c cheaper a gallon
as well, though I prefer not to use that brand.

I know, west coasters are going boo-hoo, we have crap 91: I am afraid we
may
be heading there too on the east which would suck-diddily-uck, Flanders.
