There _are_ some choice roads but you just have to ask the right people.  ;)

What part of NC are you settling down in?  Feel free to e-mail me 
off-line if you need local hints/tips.

BTW, you don't need a hardtop.  I think I have to put the top up maybe 
5-10 days out of the year but have to crank the heater up when it gets a 
little chilly.  Yes, I'm sure I got lots of weird looks but they don't 
know what they are missing.

As for rain, it doesn't rain that much.  We've only had a few days of 
rain this summer and central NC is technically in a bit of a draught.  I 
won't argue about the humidity, though.
