I hear ya.. my pal's car odo read as 28k or so, we really wondered (based on the lack of rot) if it was an original 28k or not.. the car was very unmolested for being 38 years old. We'll never know.
Nah, but I don't have kids. ;) The dog won't complain, either! For that car, I think I would suffer... beside, I won't haul lumber with it! Have you ever seen the original? I bought it on DVD, pretty crazy what they do to that car.. telephone pole hit right behind the front tire at like 70+mph (unscripted!).. funny movie to watch, sort of original Blues Brothers with a round-n-round chase in a dirt lot with a plateau and tons of silly cop crashes.. worth watching if you can find a copy (think I got mine at BestBuy?). The guy behind it died making the sequel, a water tower fell on his car during filming. The trivia on the original is interesting reading, as well: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071571/trivia Wallyman "Wiseman, Curtis J" <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com> To [EMAIL PROTECTED] 07/29/2008 09:26 AM cc [email protected], [EMAIL PROTECTED] .net Subject RE: Carfax anyone? Dang. It’s not worth going to the KS DMV and finding the (probably blocked) path through administrative arcania. Assuming it’s still in KS, that is. Wallyman, your lotto car would be cool, but does it have a lay-down back seat? ;-) I found out much later that my car was basically the same as Eleanor in the first “Gone in 60 Seconds.” I’m sure that counts for something somewhere. And nice car, tho I hate the 71-73 body (too damned big).. dream car is a 69 restomod in all black and "if I won the lotto" car is the 68 GT500KR convertible.. ;) Wallyman Inactive hide details for "Wiseman, Curtis J" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Wiseman, Curtis J" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> "Wiseman, Curtis J" <curtis.j.wisema [EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: To miatapower-bounc [EMAIL PROTECTED] miatapowe t [EMAIL PROTECTED] wer.net 07/29/2008 09:19 cc AM Subject Carfax anyone? I stumbled across my high school car's VIN and wondered where it got to. 1F05M150633 1971 Mach 1, Harvest Gold, 351 Cleveland, Hurst 4 spd, 285 bhp, no brakes or steering to speak of, stupid fast for a kid. Miss that car.... _______________________________________________ Miatapower mailing list [email protected] http://list.miatapower.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/miatapower
