The 1.6 would get seriously lethargic at stoplights with the CTS diff. ----- Original Message ----- From: Eric McCord To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, August 30, 2008 9:33 PM Subject: Best of both worlds???
I have been debating with a coworker about how Elvis gets better gas mileage now as a LS1 vs running a 4 cyl. I know it is due to the CTS diff and taller gearing. It started me thinking.......always has the potential to get dangerous with me. What would a 1.6 FMII get with the CTS diff vs the Torsen I am running now. Also, as I recall from my Torsen swap there was not alot involved in changing it over. What I thought would be cool is to simplify the swap by making the 1/2 shafts two piece and be able to change over the Torsen CV side over to the CTS CV side. Run the CTS diff for gas mileage and swap in the Torsen for having serious fun. And if I ever have my dream come true be able to swap in the Torsen for SERIOUS FUN with the LS1 engine....... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Miatapower mailing list [email protected] http://list.miatapower.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/miatapower
