I have three OBD-II cars to take care of and I do not have anything to read
codes with. I also have a big interest in seeing how driving at different
speeds affect MPG as well as a general need to tinker with things. I think a
ScanGauge-II would be a nice toy for me to play with but I have not looked
at all the other devices out there. While I am not opposed to carrying a
laptop around with me (hooked to the OBD-II port) from time to time I do not
know if I want to be tied down to always using it when I mess with the cars
computer. Anyone have any good advice for me? I know we have discussed this
before but I need more data before I throw down my cash. Thanks!

FWIW, I see the SG2 is $170 shipped from the manufacture.
