I would say go for it. I have one in my 97 Miata and love it. I also use 
it in my honda insight some times.

as for cost...  check out www.cleanmpg.com they do group buys that will 
probably bring the price down a bit. looks like they just got done with 
one but it was 149.95 shipped.
