We use the Dyno Scan software and have been very happy with it. The latest improvements include lots of fuel tracking measurements. You would probably like those.
www.auterweb.com I have been looking at trying a different unit that is much less expensive. I found it on e-bay. I have not done much research on it though. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ELM327-USB-OBD-II-2-OBDII-Scan-Tool-ELM-327-C AN-Scanner_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c39Q3a1Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12 Q7c240Q3a1308QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem200258568929QQitemZ2002585 68929 Stephanie BEGi/Bell Engineering Phone: 830-438-2890 Fax: 830-438-8361 www.bellengineering.net From: Robert McElwee [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, October 03, 2008 3:24 PM To: Miata Power List Subject: I'm buying a ScanGauge-II tonight (I think - talk me out of it) I have three OBD-II cars to take care of and I do not have anything to read codes with. I also have a big interest in seeing how driving at different speeds affect MPG as well as a general need to tinker with things. I think a ScanGauge-II would be a nice toy for me to play with but I have not looked at all the other devices out there. While I am not opposed to carrying a laptop around with me (hooked to the OBD-II port) from time to time I do not know if I want to be tied down to always using it when I mess with the cars computer. Anyone have any good advice for me? I know we have discussed this before but I need more data before I throw down my cash. Thanks! FWIW, I see the SG2 is $170 shipped from the manufacture. -- Robert McElwee and Blue Flash "The 50 MPG Miata" www.lightweightmiata.com/mpg Lightweight Miata Forum: www.lightweightmiata.com/forum The Miata Trailer Project: www.lightweightmiata.com/trailer
