As an owner of a geo metro, I will not stand for this partisan
metro-bashing, by an obvious automotive hate monger! ;)

NIGHTMARE.

I had a 3 cylinder 94 Geo Metro for about 6 months. It was the scariest
piece of crap I have ever driven OR ridden in. I was commuting about
200-300 miles a day back in '95 and the only good thing I can say about it
is it got great fuel mileage, even when flogging it hard - I averaged about
45mpg.

It had 12 inch tires that were not much bigger than the one's on my HF
trailer.
It would lean ~5degrees when driving across windy bridges and sometimes I
would fight against the wind so hard that once the x-winds would slow down I
would have trouble staying in my lane - no joke.
The suspension and brakes were SO bad that I nose-dived under hard braking
and I could not slow down enough and actually drove UNDER a volvo that
stopped at the last minute to take a right turn (going down hill in SF). I
was amazed how crappy the brakes were. I actually laughed when I hit the
volvo - there was no damage to the front bumper, but upon contact the hood
crumpled up about a foot in the air. I pushed it back into semi-shape and
the hood latch/release still worked, SWEET. No damage to the Volvo, not
even a scuff on her painted bumper.
