Nope. The tech knew who I am, and knew who my dad is. They swore there was
no other way to fix it. When a call to another Mazda dealership said the
same, I did not question it further. Granted, this was 3 years ago.

unfortunately i wonder if it depends on gender to a degree :(
it seems most unreasonable...maybe a little research and an informed
discussion with the regional rep and/or   attorney general
