I agree is does not sound right. But when the key is coded to the ECU, and a
copied key has locked it - what else can you do? I found out later that a
copied key will work twice before it kills the ECU completely.  But there is
a new ECU and it came with two new keys. I have had too many bad experiences
with dealerships not to double check their work. There is a new ECU and it

unfortunately i wonder if it depends on gender to a degree :(
it seems most unreasonable...maybe a little research and an informed
discussion with the regional rep and/or   attorney general
