Could be a vacuum leak only under a load. Idle may not have enough
airflow to open the "gap", but under throttle, there may be enough
suction to pull air through the gap.

I had this type of leak on my spiral flex intake hose on my
supercharged engine. It was leaking though the spiral under the clamp
and exhibited similar lean under load condition. Could see dust tracks
inside the tube that followed the spiral.
