Hi, i got my block and crank back along with the piston kit and i was wondering if there is any way to balance/match the rods and piston/pins at home? I had access to a digital scale to weigh the parts, (heaviest pin to lightest piston , rod & cap/screws), ;I really dont know of an effective way to weight the big ends without specialized scale attachments which I dont have, ( i did weigh the caps separately due to the limits of the digital scale),
the summery is below... max difference in rods is 0.50 Grams max difference in cap is 1.10 Grams max difference in rods/cap is 1.60 Grams max difference in piston/pin is 2.98 Grams again matching lightest rod to heaviest piston gives max difference in "assembly" of 1.92 Grams The clips weigh the same, I assume the bearings do as well. The differences listed above seem to be too big to use :asis", is that right? Is there a way to weigh the big ends at home? other options? thanks, peter -- Medio tutissmus ibis You will go most safely by the middle course
