The K car sold like hell and saved Chryslers' butt but it was a nasty car if you were unfortunate enough to get the bigger engine with an auto tranny and live in a city. I had the small engine with the manual and it wasn't a bad car but my Dad had the bigger engine with the auto as did a bunch of the sales people at my company. I can't tell you how many of them put holes through the tranny pan and blew the tranny up. The thing faced forward at a 45 degree angle and if you hit a bad pothole you punched the tranny pan. Well, I take that back. The wife got me a small book called "Worst Cars Ever Made" or something like that.. interesting the vehicles marked for such a distinction. Pretty sure it was written by someone in Europe, as it had the 90-93 Escort which included a convertible model??? Never realized they had a convertible Escort out there... The usual suspects were listed: Pinto, Pacer, Gremlin, Mustang II.. a car pal flipped thru and pointed out a glaring omission: The Reliant K-Car. How could they miss that gem?? But he and I both were surprised they included the 1970 Nova... I can't imagine that being on any 'worst" list.. it's classic American muscle car. Wally
