There is no center part of the crank pully, unless you mean the part that the
TB rides on? If your pully is wobbling then I wouldn't mess with a used one
unless you can verify it came off a low mileage engine. What year is your
engine? The 1.6's are only ~ $145 list, the 94-97's are about $200 list, but if
you know an autoxer or racer on the MSM development program the price is about
50% off list.

good luck,
Mike

Subject: worn balancer fix or replace?

Hi Guys. I took off my crank pully to do the locktight fix and found that the
inside of the harmoic balancer where it fits over the crank nose is wallowed
out kind of oval. I tried test fitting it over the crank and it wobbles around
on the crank. I'm thinking tis might actually be good news because hopefully
this is where all of the wobbling I saw was coming from and hopefully not
wobling caused by the crank itself.

I'm having a hard time finding a replacement balancer ( the center part of the
crank pully).
Some people sell the pully, but without the balancer part in the middle which
is the part I need. Also, the local mazda whecking yard refused to sell one
because he said when you need one your crank is about to fail , so he doesn't
sell them....... So:

Does anyone know where I can get it and what it should cost?

Or can I fill the wollowed out part with J B weld or have it welded and grind
it down? ( the wallowed out part is worn oval about 1/16 th inch about 1/3 way
around the hole.)
