I think Bernie is the bad guy when it comes to planning the races. He has
his hands in multiple cookie jars at the same time. I don't think he has
had much to do with what Max has been trying to do. I'm betting Bernie
isn't unhappy to see Max going away either.

This pretty well kills F1 for me.

It got boring during the Ferrari dominance era even tho I like Ferrari. Last
year was cool with Hamilton tearing things up and this year has been cool
with Brawn coming out of no where.

But I was really looking forward to more tracks, more races, & lower prices
for tickets. I thought just maybe I'd be able to find a track I could
afford to go to.

It's hard to watch what with the times it comes on and the switching back
and forth between channels so it's finally becoming a why bother scenario.

I thought Bernie was the biggest bad guy in this situation so what's
supposed to happen to him?

FWIW, it appears that--wait for it--Max Moseley was apparently the burr in
FOTA's collective butt, because they've agreed to the budget constraints
(which I still think are crazy), but only because Mr. Moseley has finally
decided to not seek re-election. Personally, I'd love to see a Nixon-esque
moment of Moseley flying off into the sunset...and the helicopter exploding
in a ball of money :-p

About $2.2bn US, actually. That's the impact of the FOTA teams taking their
ball and going home (and forming their own series).

I do wonder how much of Bernie's $Billion personal fortune would evaporate
should this come to pass and be successful.

For you F! fans, looks like the showdown is here

I for one hope the teams stand together and tell Bernie and Max to stick it
where the sun doesn't shine.
