I vote for a boost leak.

Subject: Troubleshooting an older FM EBC/general Link EBC issue

Hey folks,

I have been running an older FM2 on my 1.6 for years using the MK2 Link
with the older brass colored (I believe its a Denso unit) electronic
boost controller.

A few months ago, it basically stopped working where I thought it was
electrical with no signal, but some DLL logs show odd results and I
believe signal is fine.

Below is a segment of a good log from the past where the WG is closed at
98 up to right
before WG RPM (3600). Life was good

Upon onset, WG % is 10-12 points too low and never raises up, hence it
feels close to WG Baseand I never see more then 7 PSI vs the very stable
180 KPA that was previously run. Its almost as if it thinks 152 KPA or
so is the boost target, but it is not based on the recorded zone
settings.

Not sure where to look at this point. I checked the pressure signal hose
to the EBC, but a leak there would likely cause over boost not
underboost I would think.

Any one have a similar situation in the past? I have no problem
replacing the EBC with something FM has for sale, just want to try to
identify that as the problem before playing musical parts.

The car still runs great, and 8psi is better then 2psi...it just feels
off. Slow if you will.

Y'all probably can empathize with my problem :)

cheers,

- b
