I am in need of the same work. Lots of smoke on cold start,
particularly when the ambient temperature is under 60 degrees F. I also
get blowby under vacuum (ie downhill, closed throttle, 4th gear engine
braking) and over 4.5K RPM which would indicate my rings need some
lovin' too. The startup smoke is the real bitch though - being
summertime and windows open my neighbors aren't liking me too much in
the mornings. Would a leak-down test in advance of this procedure be wise to ensure your rings are healthy enough to hold the pressure, or is the constant air source enough to work on it's own?
