  Maybe there something loose above the pump Bob? from the pump to the plate;
coming off/going on/loose wiring. Have you pulled it to check it over?

What is the sock from? It's so much smaller than the stock miata one, and
that supra pump is more powerful, perhaps it's collapsing the sock or sucking
it in.

Half a tank, that seems extreme. I used to get fuel starve in autox, but I'd
be running under an eighth of a tank to save weight and kumho's.

You have to figure the inlet hole in the tank is the important height, not so
much the sock. You may have to bite the bullet and go to a swirl pot. Running
really sticky tires?

  Subject: fuel starving going left?

At 1/2 tank my car starves for fuel and sputters when I corner to the left
and only when cornering hard left. Sure seems like a fuel pickup issue. some
serches on Miata.net showed others had this problem but the source of the
problem was not always clear. Mine has an entirely bran new fuel system, new
lines New fuel filter, and a new fuel pump. Fuel lines have all stainless -6
AN ends silver brazed on the hard lines with AN fitttings everywhere. Fuel
filter is like a stock one but is setup for AN fittings as well. Fuel pump is
not stock It is a 50mm Denso supra pump and the mounting has been modified
using RX7 bracketry to make it secure and fit. The sock on the fuel pump is
also not the same as a stock miata one. the depth the sock sticks in the tank
might be 1/4" higher than stock due to the angels but I have a hard time
believing it makes that much diffferance. Pictures attached

It seems like before it would run down to the last teaspoon of gas in the
tank. is it really possible this sock on the pump is making that much
differance?

  Any Ideas

  Bob
