Subject: Re: weird 5k rpm bucking

Replaced the coil, wires, and plugs today with still no change. Car was
running fine before this started yesterday. I might just reboot the Link
to see if that changes anything. Gas mileage seems to be better at the
moment, but life under 5k is rather boring!

Sorry, I missed the part indicating the turbo wasn't on there
yet.

A quick guess would be the air/fuel ratio by 5K RPM. Do you
have an A/F gauge installed?
Most people get "bogging" if the fuel is too high, but that
could also be interpreted as "bucking", as the spark plugs could be
getting soaked, causing ignition cutout.
Have you pulled the plugs to see if you're running lean (white
deposit/coating?)
A dark coating would indicate you're running too rich.
Of course, you have to put some miles on the plugs too make that
judgement, so new plugs may not help you diagnose the problem.

Now, if this is a recent problem and the larger injectors and
Link have been working without difficulty, I'd say that you're more
likely to have a LEAN condition, perhaps brought on by a clogging fuel
filter of failing fuel pump.
