I believe that Technology, primarily as methods of communication, has made slavery less likely than ever before in the world's history. There really is no such thing as "unintentional genocide"... That would be manslaughter of an entire distinct set of people. Example: Bringing charges against the flock of birds that were sucked into the jet engines of a plane carrying the Antartic suffing team, where the entire team was composed of "native" beings. Quite unlikely.
